Go Blue for Kids Awareness Campaign

Every April during Child Abuse Prevention Month, Children’s Advocacy Center for Rockwall County (CACRC) initiates our Go Blue for Kids Campaign to highlight and make an extra effort to create awareness of the importance of strengthening families and preventing child abuse.

Blue is the official color to raise awareness about child abuse and we hope that all of Rockwall County will join us in our efforts to Go Blue for Kids to show that our community cares about keeping children safe from abuse.

Here are some ways you can help raise awareness and support our mission:

Child Abuse Prevention Month Proclamations

Each April, Rockwall County and the cities we serve issue official proclamations recognizing Child Abuse Prevention Month. These proclamations affirm our community’s commitment to protecting children, supporting survivors, and raising awareness about the critical role we all play in preventing abuse. By partnering with the Children’s Advocacy Center for Rockwall County, our local leaders help ensure that child safety remains a visible priority and that families know resources and support are available.

Blue Sunday Prayer

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

The last Sunday in April is Blue Sunday and it is a day for the faith community to pray for the millions of victims of child abuse and for those working to provide hope & healing for them.

Blue Sunday Prayer Request

Given the size of Rockwall County, data indicates that nearly 3,467 children are at risk for becoming victims of abuse. While it might be easy to think that our community is immune from this atrocity, the sad truth is that there are many children that deal with the effects of child abuse (sexual and physical abuse and neglect). Many suffer in silence—without a voice of their own.

Please pray for the protection of children in Rockwall County—the youngest citizens of our community.

  • Pray that God would bring an end to child abuse.
  • Pray that children would have the courage to speak out about abuse they may be facing.
  • Pray for the victims who have come forward to feel supported and loved as they heal from the wounds of abuse.
  • Pray for wisdom for parents to recognize the potential for and impact of child abuse.
  • Pray for strength and stamina for those who investigate and seek to eliminate child abuse in this county.
  • Pray that God would change the hearts of perpetrators of child abuse.
  • Pray that the community would become more aware of the impact of child abuse here and that we would become more supportive of the victims who come forward.
